Leeds Bradford Airport is the main airport serving West Yorkshire and the wider Yorkshire region. Located on the moors between Leeds and Bradford, it serves around 70 destinations, mostly European leisure routes, with Ryanair, easyJet and Jet2 as the primary carriers. A major new terminal is planned to replace the current building.

History
Leeds Bradford Airport was established in 1931 and used as a RAF training base during World War II. Post-war it developed as a regional airport serving the manufacturing heartland of Yorkshire. Passenger numbers have grown from under 500,000 in 1990 to over 4 million today. Planning permission for a new purpose-built terminal was granted in 2021, with construction expected to begin soon.
