About Glasgow Airport
Glasgow Airport is Scotland's second busiest airport and the main airport for the west of Scotland. Located 8 miles west of Glasgow city centre in Renfrewshire, it offers a wide range of European and transatlantic routes with British Airways, easyJet, Ryanair and TUI among the main carriers.
Terminals
▶Single terminal (all airlines)
⚠️ One terminal. Domestic and international check-in are in the same building but in separate zones.
History
Glasgow Airport opened in 1966, replacing the old Renfrew Airport which had insufficient runway length for jet aircraft. It was owned by BAA until the forced break-up of the BAA monopoly in 2014, when it was sold to AGS Airports alongside Aberdeen and Southampton. The airport made international headlines in 2007 when a car bomb attack on the terminal was foiled. Passenger numbers recovered fully post-pandemic.
